Ms. Saowarot Kerdsup, School Head
B.A. English Literature
Born in Phuket, Kru Aew (as she likes to be called) first began her teaching career iin 1983 teaching English in Chiang Rai, Thailand. After three short years there, she was promoted to Head of the English Department.
Her tenure here at Satree Phuket School began in 2007 again teaching English and one year later was promoted to Head of School where she's been ever since.
Kru Aew was selected some years ago by OBEC as one of a small number of teachers to attend training in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. The training entailed teaching English as a second language, English for Negotiation, strategies for being a Head of the Educational Hub Projects in Thailand, as well as setting up sister-school arrangements with high schools in Australia.
Kru Aew is a very experienced teacher and administrator who has traveled the world.
Ms. Kanchanawan Chinakam, Advisor/Consultant
B.A. English, M.A. English
Kru Kan is a native of Phuket and before coming to us in 2016, worked as not only Head of the Thai Department at British International School Phuket for six years, but also teaching IB DP Thai 1st Language.
With Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in English, Kru Kan is fluent in the language and has a great deal of experience teaching English for Tourism, Business English, and English Fundmentals at universities in Phuket as well as Dusit Thani College.
She brings a wealth of experience in administration and teaching methodology to our school.
Mr. Christopher Swift, Principal
B.S. Psychology, M.S. Biology
Chris has worked in industry (Assistant Head of Scientific Affairs for a laboratory in New York) and has most recently been working in academia for more than twenty years. He's been at Satree Phuket School since 2011.
Chris has worked as Head of Science Department in several schools and his teaching experience includes IGCSE (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics), A-Level (Physics, Chemistry), IB DP (Physics), and university-level Biology in schools from Thailand to Kuwait, China to Colorado, USA.
Chris was born in Egypt, lived in Canada, and spent a lot of time in different parts of America - New York, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maryland, Arizona, Colorado, and California.
After Graduate School, Chris traveled the world for a year, visiting Egypt (the land of his birth), India, Thailand, and Japan. It was a life-changing experience. After working back in the States for a year, he bought a one-way ticket to Thailand in 1992, started his career in academia, and never looked back.
He's been very happily married to an amazing (and patient!) Thai woman for twenty-five years and they have three wonderful children together (a boy and twin girls).
Life is good!
Ms. Cassie Carle, Assistant Principal
B.A. History & Religious Studies, B.Ed. Social Studies (in progress)
Cassie has been involved in academia in one facet or another for her entire life. She started as a teacher’s assistant while in Grade 10 of high school, and continued through to graduation. During university she worked as a student teacher in both the primary, and secondary school systems, while completing her Faculty of Education pre-requisites.
She was a member of the Canada Basketball Center for Performance training program for three years, and was a member of the University of Lethbridge basketball team.
Cassie has taught in the International Program here at Satree Phuket School as the Head of Social Studies since 2014.
She was born in Canada, and has since made it her mission to see as much of the world as possible. Following university she booked a one-way ticket to Thailand, and has been able to simultaneously begin her teaching career, and continue to cross countries off her bucket list.
