Our selection of clubs comes from the students together with the teaching staff. It's our philiosophy that students should be the ones to decide their clubs (as long as we have staff to support them) rather than being forced to choose from a mandated list. Here are the clubs we've chosen this year.
Some of our clubs have only one student, but we're fine with that -- it's the club they want to be in, not the one they have to be in!
Mr. Willette will head up this club which will provide students a great opportunity to get in touch with their creative side and express themselves in a variety of media.
We feel that competition is a healthy part of growing up and this club will give students the opportunity to develop skills in football as well as reinforcing ideas of fair play and sportsmanship, headed up by Mr. Opaliski.
In this highly technical world, computer skills that span a wide variety are a must and this club, headed by Ms. Thapa, will develop skills of software use, programming, website design, and a host of other skills.
Card Playing Club
Headed by Ms. Carle, students will learn and have fun playing a wide variety of entertaining card games like gin rummy, poker, and maybe the most challenging card game ever invented, bridge.
There are few, single activities better for improving your English skills than simply reading it. A wide variety of level-appropriate books will be enjoyed in this club, headed by Mr. MacKenzie.
Headed by Mr. Olefirowicz, this club will teach strategy and team spirit along with how to develop sportsmanship whether in victory or defeat.
Movie Making Club
Write your own screenplay, cast your actors, and make your own movie. We're looking forward to this one and all movies will be posted on the website and on our youtube channel, headed by Mr. Willette.
