A-level studies

A-level courses are designed for the last two years in high school, Years 12 and 13. In fact, there are two different levels one may choose.

AS-Level studies last for one year, Year 12. Like IGCSE and A-Level, the curricula for all the various AS-Level subjects are internationally recognized by all universities.

All subjects taken in AS-Level should be the same as those taken in IGCSE; it's a natural follow-on. For example, if one never took IGCSE Chinese 2nd Language, it would not at all be advisible to jump straight into the AS-Level studies.

If you want to take courses fully on a first-year university level, continue the next and final year of high school, Year 13 with A-Level

These courses are a natural culmination of AS-Level studies and are done in the final year of high school, Year 13.

Because of the rigor of these university-level courses, it is not recommended that one take more than 3 or 4 subjects. One can take as many A-Level subjects as one wants, but it is the truly exceptional student who could handle more than 4 and hope to do well in them.

cie logoThe Acadmic Year 2016 - 2017 will be our inaugural year of offering a program of study in IGCSE and we're all very excited about it.

IGCSE is an international standard, high-quality curriculum supported by teachers of the highest quality. Our teaching resources will also be of the highest quality being published by Cambridge University Press. Studying IGCSE ensures that our students are competing on a level playing field with students throughout the world.

Our Curriculum

There are two levels one may study in IGCSE - Core and Supplemental, and we offer both levels for all our students.

The Supplemental course is a bit more thorough than core and the highest grade one could get is an A*. The highest grade one could attain in Core is a C.

If any students of ours choose to apply to university in Thailand at the end of their two years of IGCSE, they must pass five IGCSE subjects, regardless of whether that is Core or Supplemental.

We might note here that there is a growing number of international universities that are also accepting applications from students with five IGCSE passes.

business 75For those interested in studying business, this is the best option. Although there is another subject for this in IGCSE, Business Studies, Enterprise is far more enriching in that it not only incorporates all the theory of Business Studies, it also requires students, in a project-based environment, to apply that knowledge in creating and running their own businesses.

English 2nd Language

english 75English is the global language for business, politics, finance, and many other endeavors. For all our students, having thorough and competent skills in English is a must to ensure their future success in global communication.

This two-year course does it all: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

math 75Mathematics is something we use every day and for our entire lives. Being comfortable and confident in a range of mathematical topics is crucial.

Covering topics up to Statistics, Probability, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and more, students are very well prepared to continue their mathematics studies either in university or A-level in Years 12 and 13.

Coordinated Science

science 75Scientific issues play a larger and larger role in our lives and being able to make informed decisions in our communities and nations depends on sound scientific knowledge.

This two-year course thoroughly covers the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Passing this course is worth two IGCSE certificates.

ICT (Information and Communication Technology)

technology 75Knowledge of technology and computers is indispensible in today's world. There is no job our students will have in their future lives that does not involve both of these.

Being very well-grounded in the theory and practical applications of these topics will be of great value to them as long as they live.

Art & Design

art 75A life without aesthetic appreciation is a life not well-lived.

In this course we not only instill this aesthetic appreciation, we go to great lengths to develop it in guiding students to tap into their creative side and express themselves artistically.

Global Perspectives

socstud 75Creating 21st Century thinkers with a global perspective is what this course is designed for.

In this course, students will undertake a series of guided research projects designed to increase their understanding and appreciation of this diverse world of ours through gaining theoretical knowledge and applying it.

Thai 1st Language

thai 75A fundamental understanding of one's mother tongue is crucial in order to communicate effectively and this course is designed to do just that - instill in our Thai students a depth of knowledge in their language and promote communication skills in all aspects of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Chinese 2nd Language

As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, Chinese is playing a larger part of the languages one must know in international trade, finance, and geopolitics. This course will not be available to those never having studied the language before; a foundational understanding is a requirement.
